First Hellenic Forum for Science, Technology and Innovation at N.C.S.R. “Demokritos”

The National Center for Scientific Research “Demokritos” organizes the first Hellenic Forum for Science, Technology and Innovation on July 17-19, 2013.

The reason for organizing this event is to strengthen research and innovation, nowadays being more than ever necessary to enhance the competitiveness and productivity of the country. Scientists of Diaspora could be a great help to this effort. The Hellenic Forum Science, Innovation and Technology aims at building bridges between the research community in Greece and distinguished scientists living and working abroad in order to enhance scientific and technology transfer collaborations for innovation.

The program will include a series of lectures on Nanotechnology, Energy and Environment, Life Sciences, ICT, Particle and Nuclear Physics. Also, speakers and guests will visit the exhibition of Greek Innovation Technologies, while on July, 18th a Social Greek Night will take place. The event will close with presentations by organization and company representatives on enhancing innovation in the Greek as well as international business environment.

A Greek design / manufacturing early warning system, based on client - server architecture (many clients –sensors - to one server – controller) that embedded  a number of surveillance-detection sensors systems in a modern command & control hyper system, using computers and communications (C4ISR). Detection technology based on specific applications of electromagnetic phenomena such as: CASIMIR, VORTEX, NQR...

 Until now the following industrial and laboratory prototypes have developed:

1. Αn industrial product called ‘DRAMS EWS‘, an Early Warning System for long distance Detection-Localization-Monitoring & digital recording in a GIS data base of materials as: Drugs, Explosives, IDE's, Ammunitions of any kind, Bombs, Living Humans, Dead buried or not Humans, metals of any kind, minerals, Asymmetric Threats as CBRNE, etc. DRAMS EWS localize materials in over 20 Kilometers range (depends on material maze). Especially in case of explosives, the system giving enough time to security forces to eliminate the threat before terrorists could reach their target.   

 

2. Αn industrial product called ‘KYKLOTRON E3 sensor system‘, for long distance Detection-Localization & digital recording in a GIS data base of an eembedded  computing system (PAD), materials as: Explosives/IDE's/Ammunitions/ Contraband/Drugs/Bombs/ Living Humans /Dead buried or not Humans/ metals of any kind/minerals/Asymmetric Threats as CBRNE, etc.  KYKLOTRON E3 sensor system detects materials in over 20 Kilometers range (depends on material maze). The system incorporates a special computer system (PAD) with the ability to locate the material position and record it in a digital database technology GIS (digital map). Embedded technologies TRACKING and ROUTING helping the user be guided to the material position even if it is dark or the material is not visible (behind a hill, a mountain, a parapet, etc). Working efficiently even inside any vehicle, helicopter, ship, submarine, etc.

3. KYKLOTRON E4 ΙNS system‘, for long distance Detection - Localization & digital recording in a GIS data base of an eembedded  computing system materials as: Explosives/IDE's/Ammunitions/ Contraband/Drugs/Bombs/ Living Humans /Dead buried or not Humans/ metals of any kinf/minerals/Asymmetric Threats as CBRNE, etc.  An UN-MAN sensor system, proper for INSTALLATION in any kind of stations (airports, harbour, railway, buss), camps, buildings, areas, etc. Detecting  materials in over 5 Kilometers range (depends on material maze). Proper for Surveillance – Security – Antiterrorism Search and Rescue – Minerals   localization -  Asymmetric Threats localization -  Drugs fight – lost humans investigation, etc services. Designed to install on  UAV'S and DRONES.  A laboratory prototype of the sensor has been developed up to now.

Detects and locates materials at distances from 0 to over 20 kilometers (depending on their mass. As an example at a Gulf country a military base has been detected from 110 kilometers long). Materials recording into digital databases, both the sensor itself, and the controller computer. Supported by modern GIS background (GIS) with full potential of GPS technology , tracing and routing to the material position.  Provides the ability to locate materials behind mountains and hills, inside buildings, into the ground, below walls and any parapet, deep into water, on air, etc. It incorporatespassive’ technology that is not detected, nor interfere by the known technologies.
